What is the Young Researchers' Meeting?
The Young Researchers' Meeting (YRM) of the European Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility
is an annual meeting of first stage researchers (MSc and PhD students and postdoctoral researchers)
who work on novel theoretical and computational approaches for
studying the electronic and optical properties of materials. The objectives of this meeting are to provide young researchers with the opportunity to
share their work and acquaint themselves with state-of-the-art theoretical methods applied
both in their own field and in others. Moreover, it offers scientists at the beginning of
their careers the chance to network with young colleagues from different institutions,
exchange knowledge and ideas and thus integrate further into the scientific community.
The YRM 2020 will be divided into five oral sessions:Session 1. Advanced electronic structure methods with a particular focus on spectroscopic properties.Session 2. Strongly correlated systems.Session 3. The vibrational properties of materials.Session 4. The optical properties of materials.Session 5. Multiscale modeling. The conference will also include a poster session, in which participants will have
the opportunity to present their work in a more casual atmosphere, as well as
an industry session in which researchers who have moved into industry from academia will share their
experience on the possibilities outside the academic world.Read More
